Noxubee Projected and Actual Release
MDOC uses the label Tentative Release Date. That wording matters. A tentative date is a current calculation based on the record available to corrections. It is not an appointment, a court order, or proof that a release happened. MDOC also calculates an ERS date and a maximum release date, which answer different sentence questions.
A county pretrial detainee is different. The Noxubee County Adult Detention Center may release a person after bond, dismissal, time served, a court order, or completion of a local sentence. It may also transfer the person to MDOC or another authority. A pretrial case has no reliable percentage-based release date because the next event depends on the court and any holds.

Find Noxubee Projected Release Dates
First determine whether MDOC controls the sentence. The Mississippi Department of Corrections Inmate Search covers state commitments, including residents at the Noxubee County Community Work Center. It does not control a person whose only custody is a local Noxubee booking.
Search by MDOC ID when possible. A name result must be matched through birth date, county of conviction, offense, sentence date, physical description, and other fields. Then read Location, Unit, Location Change Date, sentence data, and Tentative Release Date together. Location can reveal a transfer or community-supervision setting that a date alone cannot explain.
- Classify the case as county pretrial, county sentence, or MDOC commitment.
- For MDOC, search by ID or name and match the full identity and sentence record.
- Record the exact Tentative Release Date, Location, Unit, and Location Change Date.
- Check whether parole or ERS applies, then use the parole record and supervising office when relevant.
- Ask the case manager or MDOC Records for the time sheet, sentence computation, and discharge certificate.
- For a county-only case, ask the sheriff and court for the release authority, date, and any receiving agency.

Note: A missing MDOC result does not prove discharge, and MDOC does not cover a county-only bond or time-served release.
Noxubee MDOC Release Date Fields
An MDOC detail record can display far more than one date. It may include entry date, location, unit, location-change date, number of sentences, total length, offense, sentence length, county of conviction, sentence date, and Tentative Release Date. These fields help confirm that the correct person and term have been found.
A legacy print view warns that actual release types and dates may differ under state law. That warning reflects how sentence credit, multiple terms, classification, holds, and release approval interact. Never copy the tentative field into a calendar without retaining its official label and the date on which it was checked.

The surrounding fields are essential because the date must belong to the right person, sentence, and location.
Mississippi Earned Time in Noxubee
For eligible sentences imposed after June 30, 1995, Miss. Code § 47-5-138 generally permits 4.5 days of earned time for each 30 days served for good conduct and performance. The general cap is 15 percent of the sentence. The familiar phrase "serve 85 percent" is the arithmetic result of that cap, not a promise that every person leaves confinement at exactly that point.
Eligibility can change the result. Section 47-5-139 lists excluded categories, including several sentence and offense classes. Ordinary earned time may be forfeited after serious rule violations. Consecutive terms are treated through the total sentence, and escape-related conduct can affect credit.
Trusty time under Section 47-5-138.1 is separate. It can allow a different reduction for an approved trusty program and carries its own exclusions. Adding trusty time to ordinary earned time in a homemade calculator would ignore MDOC's actual eligibility and sentence computation.
Older sentences require care. Sentences imposed before July 1995 operate under a different framework. Qualifying pre-sentence county jail credit can also affect the sentence-begin date, but MDOC's handbook ties that credit to cause-number and timing conditions. A court sentence date minus a percentage cannot account for those inputs, much less forfeiture, restoration, offense exclusions, or consecutive terms.

Noxubee ERS Dates Mean Supervision
Release under the earned-release mechanism can shift a person from confinement to ERS until sentence expiration. The person keeps inmate status and remains under MDOC jurisdiction. Physical presence in the community is therefore not the same as full discharge.
The Noxubee County Community Work Center creates another local point of confusion. A resident can take part in an authorized work detail or gradual-reentry program and still remain in state custody. Likewise, a transfer from that center to another MDOC site is a location change, not release.

The location and status must be paired with a discharge certificate before claiming that the sentence fully ended.
Noxubee Parole Dates Are Separate
A parole eligibility date marks the earliest point at which the Mississippi State Parole Board may consider release. It is not the MDOC Tentative Release Date and not a Board grant. The Board may grant or deny parole, and it can later revoke parole. Each event has its own record.
MDOC sends the Board a monthly eligible-offender list. The state family guide says hearings are scheduled monthly with enough time to consider eligible people before eligibility. Yet no official public person-by-person calendar or results database was located. Ask the Board for a scheduled hearing and outcome, then check the Parolee Search after release.
Even a grant does not supply the prison exit time. MDOC verifies the proposed residence and travel plan as part of release preparation. The actual release or discharge record remains necessary. This sequence is especially important for a Noxubee CWC resident, whose local placement can look community-based while MDOC custody continues.
Why Noxubee Release Dates Change
A projected date moves when the inputs or the release path change. Some changes come from sentence administration. Others come from a court, another agency, or the Parole Board. The updated MDOC record and the controlling order should be read together.

MDOC states that release preparation may take 30 to 45 days and that a person must receive a discharge certificate. That window should not be added mechanically to the tentative date. It describes an administrative process, not a universal formula.
Noxubee County Has No Published Formula
No official Noxubee county-jail good-time rule or weekend-release policy was found. MDOC's earned-time statutes govern qualifying state sentences and must not be imported into a county sentence. A Friday release also cannot be promised when a computed date falls on a weekend.
For a county-only term, obtain the sentencing order and ask the jail or court for the actual release calculation and authority. For pretrial custody, check bond, dismissal, court scheduling, and any hold. The county release log should state whether the event was community release or transfer.
That distinction protects against a common error. Leaving the Noxubee jail building can mean release, MDOC commitment, another county's pickup, federal or immigration transfer, or another move. Destination is part of the answer.
A written county request should identify the person by full name, birth date, booking date or narrow range, booking number, and cause number when known. Ask for the existing release log, actual date and time, release type, authorizing document, and destination or receiving agency. No county-specific fee schedule or request form was found, so request an electronic copy and an itemized cost estimate instead of assuming that production is free.
Mississippi's Public Records Act allows public bodies to use written procedures and to charge actual costs. It also provides a response framework, but the law does not turn a projected date into an actual event. A court order, jail log, or MDOC discharge record still supplies the operative proof.

Confirm Noxubee Actual Release

For county custody, request the sheriff's release log, authorizing document, and destination. Court records supply bond, judgment, dismissal, and sentencing context.

Four dates may appear in one case: eligibility, tentative release, physical release, and supervision discharge. Label each one. That produces a clear Noxubee County timeline and prevents a future estimate from being mistaken for a completed release.
